according to what i got from tikbalang he's the key
the rest of the group use him to translate old texts with spells and secrets for fighting monsters
taking him out of the picture won't make them lose what they already have but they shouldn't be able to get more
if we trust his word he's 16
the mask he wears glows green and is somewhat bird-like but it's no hardship to change masks
as far as i can tell he's not on the best of terms with the rest of the group
he's been barred from the network before and he's spent some time hiding with a monster as well
last i saw him he had a new weapon
a skeletal dog

and they've shown they don't care about collateral damage

easiest explanation that comes to mind is he wanted an in with the monsters
easier to trick one than all of us and he did get shelter out of it
